Twm’s Treks
Twm Sion Cati is reputed to be the 16th Century Welsh Robin Hood with a hideout cave in the hills above Llandovery. Twm’s 7 walking treks bring this beautiful countryside to life with walks linked to the history and culture of Llandovery. The 7 treks are a great way for novice and experienced walkers to explore the area.
Dafydd Wyn Morgan is the personality and experienced guide behind “Twm’s Treks” having organized over 200 guided walks since 1994. He is a member of the BMC (British Mountaineering Council) and MLTA (Mountain Leader Training Association), Ramblers Cymru, and holds a valid Outdoor First Aid Certificate.

Dafydd is a well travelled Llandoverian having trekked the Atlas Mountains, the French Alps, both the Nepal and Indian Himalaya and climbed Kilimanjaro. He has organized the Welsh 3 Peaks and the UK 3 Peaks challenges and completed the15 3000ft Peaks of Snowdonia. He’s also led two 8 day walks along the whole length of Offa’s Dyke. He has organized many Cambrian Mountains walking festivals over the years and was the inspiration behind the STEPtember 2014 walking festival with 30 walks in 30 days in 18 communities. Most recently Dafydd appeared on Weatherman Walking, taking a trek from Twm Siôn Cati’s cave all the way back to Tregaron
The 7 treks around Llandovery have a sense of place around the history and legend of the drover’s country. The “Bread of Heaven” Walk based about the legendary composer William Willams of Pantycelyn who contributed this famous Welsh anthem. The walk takes in William Williams home and passes through Merlin Cottages to the wonderful views of the Crychan Forest over Carmarthenshire.
Weekend Walking Breaks Arrive Friday for 3 nights and enjoy a full day of walking on Saturday. Private room in a shared self catering cottage. Cafe breakfast included on Saturday morning.
