Merlin House is a Welsh Farmhouse built around 1850 near Llandovery in Carmarthenshire. The town of Llandovery received its charter in 1585 and has a history as a “drover” hub for livestock for London. The first bank in Britain was formed by the Drovers in the town.
Merlin House was fully renovated in 2009 when great features from its past were discovered including two giant inglenook fireplaces. The house now has a large kitchen diner with an unusual half moon walk in fireplace with bread oven. The well equipped kitchen has modern appliances including dishwasher, washing machine and two undercounter fridges. The lounge has comfortable sofas with a flat screen TV and a second large fireplace with a log burner. There is an A rated gas central heating system so the log burner is principally for atmosphere and to improve the carbon footprint.
There are four bedrooms.
